What We Do
Rob Hutt - SLE
I retired from teaching in 2018 and now work part-time assisting with CPD and work-force development. I have 23 years of teaching experience, the last 21 of which were at Glaisdale Primary School, teaching a whole key stage two class. I was an advanced Skills Teacher for 11 years, specialising in science and the planning and delivery of a creative curriculum. I was also Teacher in Charge, with responsibilities for the running of the school when the head teacher was absent, and an SLE for 6 years, where I was involved in school to school support and the planning and running of courses.

Examples of outreach work undertaken and impact
I have been involved with a number of schools, either individually or as part of a team, where I have worked with whole staff or individual teachers to improve practice and initiate change. This has included the introduction of Quality First Teaching through staff meetings, supporting teachers and teaching assistants and modelling good practice in the classroom. As part of this work I have helped improve moderation of lessons and work through observations and book scrutinies. I provided challenge for schools that enabled them to examine their existing practise and to make it more robust.
I have also been involved in looking at wider school issues, such as behavior and depth in lessons, helping schools to devise ways to create improved opportunities for children to succeed. This has led to improved behaviour for learning and a desire to succeed.
In addition to whole school support I have experience of supporting individuals in their own classroom practise, ensuring a high-quality teaching environment where children are appropriately engaged and challenged.
