What We Do
Richard Allman - SLE
Since gaining QTS in secondary Physical Education in 2010 I have been fortunate enough to teach and lead in both Secondary and Primary School settings. I have gained experience as Key Stage Curriculum Leader, Subject Leader, NQT Mentor (Secondary PE) and Middle Leader.
In 2013 I was appointed as specialist teacher of physical education at Malton Community Primary School; a role that also includes subject leader responsibility for all aspects of the physical education curriculum and school sport development. In addition, I also lead the whole school house system and regularly collaborate and support other leaders across the school in variety of areas.
In November 2015 I gained accreditation to work as an SLE as part of the Esk Valley Teaching Alliance.
Areas of Expertise
- Subject Leadership across Foundation Subjects
- Maximising Sports Premium Funding Impact in Primary Schools
- Secondary Physical Education Key Stage 3,4,5
- Primary Physical Education Key Stage 1,2
- Physical Development in EYFS
- Cross Curricular Active Learning (Numeracy, Literacy, Physical Activity)
- Creating Purposeful House Systems
I supported my school to ensure that Sports Premium funding has been invested strategically, sustainably and with purpose. In May 2016 North Yorkshire Sport's Premium Awards recognised the whole school impact that Sports Premium is having in the school; as well as praising the creativity of curriculum and sustainable model for long term physical activity in school. More children are more active, compared to 2013. In January 2016 80% of children across Key Stage 1&2 were working at or above age related expectations in Physical Education; with 95% of EYFS children having met or exceeded early years goals in physical development, moving and handling.
